A first date should give you an opportunity to talk so you can get to know each other. Somewhere, where you both feel relaxed. Perhaps start with a drink in a nice bar (pub for the Brits) then move onto somewhere to eat that you chose together. Easy enough to do with TripAdvisor to help.
What makes me ask a girl out, it has to start with physical attraction. Why do I find one girl attractive and another not, I really don't know.
The ideal clothes for a first date. I would prefer she wore something she was relaxed and comfortable in. Some girls like to cover up, others want to show off their assets, either is ok.
