@markansas I work with the blind and most of them are extremely independent and hate getting assistance from others. They live alone and raise sighted children.

They have all sort of apps now that read their phone screens that read their PC screens that allowed them to figure out denominations of money.
I work with blind people that cook elaborate meals 100% alone by reading recipes via voice narration on their tablet and using the oven and the stove and their instant pots and their air fryer. Your view of what blind people can do is outdated.
@REMsleep well i am almost 70 and yes some of my stuff is outdated.. i will try to keep up as i learn new stuff from people like you.. i dont own a cell phone and i am glad it helps them.. however it was a question and deaf is who i would date..
@REMsleep thinking on this a few min. what if they made a app for your phone that would act like a blind dog.. radar. if a phone can recognize your face to unlock it . its not far fetched it could know what a sidewalk is or a wall .. or if the lights are green to walk.. interesting times..

@markansas They have several apps that already do this and they have eyeglasses as well that are integrated with the apps to allow some visual interpretation, some maps integration, some color readings and a bunch of stuff. It's still an industry that could use even more businesses to add to what is available but you'd be surprised at what is possible now. One of the companies I work for is part of this.
@REMsleep so cool.. me i am waiting for my self driving car.. then i can be drunk and not drive.. a lot has changed in our small lifetime.. grin
