First, choose a place you can afford. It can still be nice, but not cost a fortune.
Whatever the outcome, I'd think that if someone invites another out, he should be willing to pay. See... If I invite someone out and wish to pay, I will say that right up front... but when a guy invites me, I am old fashioned and think he will pay. I also try to be careful with the cost of what I order for I do not feel right taking anyone for all their money.
