@JRVanguard yes, like the way they move and walk, their spatial awareness, at what things they stop and stare, where do they hurry to move on from, so many more information... and it is more relaxing and taking off the pressure of being focused upon one another. Well, of course that focus is nice too.. we're just saying I guess :D!

@Boeing It would be nice if it were an option but I feel the expectations aren’t met. I was very open and honest on my profile; no LTR only companionship and within a reasonable travel distance. It’s my opinion that, and it may be because of my age group, that many Hope companionship turns into much more.

@SageWanderer I don't think it is because of your age group, it can happen in any age group.. generally people join those apps with that intention in mind - this is why it is kind of strange to be asking for companionship only in these spaces.
But then, there aren't other spaces, that are popular, meaning there is a variety of people to pick from, that aren't built around partnership. We should have similar apps for friendships, no ?

But to some, the intentionality matters most and I too get that as well, I understand the need.
But as you say, if there could. be an option. You can always create the option by writing that to your profile but I don't know how successful it could be in those environments.

@Boeing I'm not dating. I would just find it nice every now and then to go out and meet up with a stranger when friends are not available. Male or female. I'm not bi. It's not considered normal to be in a relationship and to go out.

Way back when - like 25 years ago I went on probably 20 dates over the course of a few months that were all dates from using a dating app.

No. As you probably know I use a hook up site that is focused on sex. But last week I met Joanne on that site and we went out for a drink and sat and talked, and talked. Then back to her place for sex. But it was hot and she's not as well as all that so the heat got to her so we didn't do much.
We agreed to meet again a couple of days later. This time we didn't even bother with any sex at all, just told each other about our lives.
It was great and we have exchanged email addresses so we can stay in touch.
So while we didn't start out the way you said, it did work out that way.
