From what I've read and heard, Tinder is a dating...'hook-up' sort of site. Similar Worlds is definitely not advertised that way, and is surely one where many people "complain" and vent.
That is the difference I see. 🤷

@Piper And I say it is hypocritical for one spouse to complain and vent on a social media site about the other spouse being on another social media site. IMO, BOTH are cheating.
I understand what Tinder is, but it is the same basic animal, advertised or not. I've never been on Tinder or any 'dating' site, but many married women over the years have flirted, tried to seduce, sent pics, and even propositioned me on sites just like this one, including this one.
Yeah, I know. They were all guys, right?

@SmileOnYourBrother Once again, I see a big difference between joining and being on a site that is promoted as a dating site, and venting about someone who is in a supposedly in committed relationship with you being on one...on another that is not.
I do not see simply being on a social media site when married or in a supposedly committed relationship as " cheating".
I have no doubt that some married people proposition others on sites like this. Whether they are serious in that endeavor, or not, that is a whole different thing than what this question is asking,

@Piper Well, in the unlikely event that I ever have another S.O., I sure won't be on this or any other social site. I'm loyal.

@SmileOnYourBrother I learned a long time ago to never say never. I don’t walk in any ones shoes other than my own. My flaws have definitely helped me be less judgmental!
@Handfull1 I sure won't be on this or any other social site. Guaranteed. 🙂

@Handfull1 hmmmm
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@SmileOnYourBrother good for you. You’re a better person than most.
@Handfull1 Thanks, but no. I'm just old school. "Out of touch" today's society might say.
Hiyall1t1me · 46-50, M
@Handfull1 thank goodness, I thought you directed that toward me for a moment
Piper · 61-69, F
@SmileOnYourBrother Great! I really don't see what being "loyal" to a person one is in a committed romantic sort of relationship with has to do with being on a social media site, though.

@Piper whew!

@SmileOnYourBrother The edited version of this reply, is less alarming than the one I first saw... except for the "succubus" reference. Simply being on a social media site, surely does not equate to neglecting an S.O.
Many times people who love and are committed to each other want and need to do their own thing apart from the other, don't you think?

@Piper I agree. I'm just saying that if I am in a committed relationship, MY "thing" won't be social media. Why does this make me the bad guy?
less alarming
😂 You're funny.
Piper · 61-69, F
@SmileOnYourBrother That's nice, but that is not what you said in the first reply I saw. I've seen no implication of you being accused of being the "bad guy', for simply stating that you wouldn't be participating on a social media site if you were in committed romantic relationship.
Great to know that I amuse you. 😎

@Piper I'm serious. You made me laugh at the "alarming" blurb... as if I am some kind of dreadful threat. 🤣 I'm just having fun with hypocrisy and double standards. Nothing new.
Piper · 61-69, F
@SmileOnYourBrother Nothing new for sure, the selectiveness of which so-called hypocrisy or double standards you choose to have "fun" with.
@Piper The only people who should be alarmed or offended by this post are the guilty.
@SmileOnYourBrother You seem like you’d be fun at parties.
Piper · 61-69, F
@SmileOnYourBrother I was...am not personally either alarmed or offended by the question of your actual post.
I do disagree, however, that only "the guilty" should be offended by some of the claims and opinions you've expressed in replies to those who've commented on it.

@Piper Quite alright. You still have the right to disagree. MS Harris has not won yet.
Piper · 61-69, F
Of course I have the "right" to disagree, @SmileOnYourBrother. Is there something specific VP Harris has said, that inspired that last sentence?
@Piper No. She's a figurehead, like most US presidents. It's more the consistency of an ideology of verbal censorship.
Piper · 61-69, F
@SmileOnYourBrother Verbal censorship is not an "ideology" I've ever heard or read being proposed by the individual you mentioned.
