A woman made first contact via a dating site !

She works as a nurse (I think - her profile doesn't say her job but the messages indicate that's what she does), is in a similar situation to me family-wise (mature age with a young child - her's is 5 yo), and we've just swapped phone numbers two days ago after a bit of online chat for a week.

Not spoken with voices yet because of our schedules not lining up with free time. Hoping to take that step in next day or two.

How long is too long to wait before suspecting the person is not legit when there's been a delay in a contact reply? I sent a txt message this morning, and one yesterday, just saying 'hello and good morning hope you have a lovely day' sort of thing and no replies.

Should I just take a punt and call to see what happens?

Today I blocked the mobile number I was given due to another day of no response and I checked and the person's profile is definitely gone from Plenty of Fakes. I don't have a paid subscription to any dating sites and have deleted accounts on any others I've tried out.

And now her profile has vanished from the dating site she initially contacted me from. That's enough of a sign that it's a fake, and I've had no contact back for several days now. As usual a glimmer of hope that is no more than a false prophet of Jesus Christ.

I sent a message today but received no response. If nothing tomorrow I'm blocking the number and like every dating attempt filing it in the bin.

@Guardian I've sent her a selfie taken just now to verify I'm who I say I am. Will try to call when I can. I've got my daughter for the next 4 nights so I can't call when she's with me (ie. not at school) and still awake.
