Boney M, “Rasputin" (1978)

Funny how this song’s been recently rediscovered. Boney M was one of a few German-based disco groups to emerge during the late 70s. The songwriter and founder of the group, Frank Farian, revealed later that the late Bobby Farrell (the dancing frontman) didn’t sing a note but was chosen "for the energy he brought to the live performances".

He wasn't singing? Ridiculous. The guys was in good shape though , geez he could jump around :P
@JimboSaturn I read that Farian later produced Milli Vanilli…true story. Hmm…🤔

@bijouxbroussard That makes sense! So the guy didn't have any problems with using a front person that was not the singer.
