I had 5 bets on the horses yesterday
First race I done something I have never done before.
Backed a horse in a race with only 7 runners. With 8 runners, places 1 - 2 and 3 are paid out.
7 runners, only 1 and 2 are paid, meaning one less chance of a payout.
Anyways I backed Big Bada Boom in the 2nd race of the day. I took fixed odds at $19 a win and $5 a place.
Big Bad Boom won and I collected $125 for a $10 outlay. Fixed odds paid better than starting price so I made the right decision there.
My second bet was in race 4, Wunderkind - it was paying $18 and $3.80.
Got second, by the smallest margin, a short half head. Collected $19.
Third bet was I horse I have been following for a while. This horse had not won for 440 days and was one of those who "Rarely wins out of turn"
Friar Away - won the 2200 metre race coming from last at the 400 metre mark. Paying $22.40 and $4.40.
Gusman collected $134 on that one.
Fourth bet was Canny Jack at 40 to 1. Lost.
Fifth bet was Carocapo - starting at 35 to 1.
Led all the way only to be pipped on the post by 4 to 1 Burnya to Survive.
Carocapo paid $8.10, my return was $40.50
For a $50 outlay I received $318.50 🙂
