A gripe about bicyclists

I get it.

A two lane country road that follows a river is a wonderful place to ride. It's scenic. It's peaceful. Who wouldn't want to?

The problem is, all the cyclists are imported from the city. They have 9-5 jobs. They have leisure time. They can afford the luxury of a ride along the river in their sponsored printed spandex and expensive cycles.

You know who don't have 9-5 jobs and a life of luxury?

All the people who have to figure out how to get around those assholes just trying to get to work on a beautiful Saturday.

If you are going to ride in a scenic area, please be aware, you are an annoying fuck who does not live there and are imposing on the community that does. So show some damn respect and get the fuck out of their way.

People wonder why drivers hate cyclists. This is why I hate them. They are inconsiderate pricks.

ETA:

For clarity:

I have zero issues with cyclists in the city. I highly approve of them in the city and think they are not only appropriate, but should be the approved mode of transportation.

I am talking about in the country, where the only reason to be on a two lane highway that is the only road in and out of the community is because you live in that said community. There are hundreds of places for recreational cycling that I 100% approve of and do not prevent the working class to potentially be fired or put into a dangerous or illegal situation just to deal with cyclists.

In the city, it isn't the cyclist to blame.

In the country where 1 cyclist is holding 3 or more cars hostage becuase the cars can't legally pass, and the cyclist refuses to pulloff to the side to let the parade pass, that is the issue. Two very different things

I have a bicycle locked to my front iron fence I never use, I got for free. I saw a sign on the bike saying free, I rarely use, but of course I have locked for the amount I spent repairing it and what it gives me. The struggle I now have is people try to steal the bike, they take any accessory they can if left open. I can see the attempts on cutting the lock.

I live in a city, but a small one, if I claim my part of the road (as it is mine legally if I take, just as you in a car) are you going to yell at me for cycling in my own city? They have even painted stupid signs on the road where I am. They have the left turn lane for a bicyclist within the bike lane (on the right side) instead of taking where a driver would understand I am turning left if I am in the actual left lane.

I will never follow that painted road sign. Never for my own safety. I see city planners as cyclist haters and pricks.

@awildsheepschase I have no issues with people who bike in cities. It's smart, economical and good for the environment.

And I agree. City planners should be making more spaces for bikes and making the cities less car reliant.
