@bijouxbroussard I don't know. I believe they want their grandchildren to know the truth and not care just like them. Remember the NAZIs were proud of their deeds until they were facing the gallows.

@MoveAlong The MAGAs wouldn’t be banning books and censoring media in attempts to rewrite history if they were willing to risk, with their own numbers diminishing, that the later generations wouldn’t be completely apathetic.

@bijouxbroussard They're burning books because they don't want my and your children to know. They are ok with theirs knowing and they want them growing up proud of what they've done.

Erasure has been tried and is being tried today. It will fail IMO unless they kill everyone who is not them.

@MoveAlong My community, for the most part, already knows. MAGA can’t stop us from telling our children, and many of us have, with receipts. But people like DeSantis have actually legislated against teaching aspects of U.S. history "that might make white students uncomfortable". (Florida House Bill 7)

And Donald Trump claiming that the Civil Rights Act and the Voters’ Rights Act "caused white people to be discriminated against” is what they want their children to believe, because whether or not they truly believe it themselves, they don’t want the narrative of white Americans as "the good guys", past and present, to be tarnished.
