Cherokees had a different spirituality than the other tribes.
@cherokeepatti My fiancée is a quarter Cherokee, her dad was half. And as I understand it, the Cherokee people’s spirituality was more similar to Christianity (minus the Jesus part,) and is why conversion to Christianity was much easier for that tribe of people.

@DarkHeaven there was an anthropologist who studied the Cherokees in the late 1800’s and believed that they were Jewish descendants due to their beliefs. They believed in one Great Spirit, they did not tolerate pagan practices and they also believed that a messiah had been born but they didn’t know the name. When Europeans came to trade with them and tried to trade pigs for what the Cherokees had farmed & produced they looked at the pigs and said they weren’t fit to eat. DNA testing on a certain hapotype has linked Cherokees to Persian & Egyptian Jews. I believe they may have been traders in west Africa and traveled on trade routes and ended up in the Americas. There was pottery found in Mexico that was the same type as Cherokees made in eastern states and Sequoyah took a band of men down there to investigate and ended up living there. Believe they migrated from Central America into what is now called Mexico and then during a drought left and ended up in the eastern part of America.
@cherokeepatti That’s wild. So, my fiancée might be a quarter Separdic Jews. That’s fascinating, actually.
@cherokeepatti I showed her some articles on this. This is pretty cool and she had no idea. She didn’t know her Da much because he was from out of state. Her Mum is half black and half white and she grew up mostly with the black side of her family. So very interesting.

@DarkHeaven Separdic are Spanish Jews. More like the original Jews from the Middle East. I won’t do a DNA test because I’ve read several times that they are sending our DNA results to China to be used for Crispr etc. Not going to participate in that.

@DarkHeaven There is a Cherokee doctor who was living in Mexico running a cancer treatment clinic (until he and his wife got kidnapped and held for ransom, now runs his clinic remotely). He had a website telling about the Cherokees and beliefs and culture. He was the chief of the Mexican Cherokees that are still down there but since he doesn’t want to risk being targeted for kidnapping again he’s not going back into Mexico.
