There are quite a few Ukrainians here in Leipzig

The Germans, with the Poles, have been very welcoming to my people who fled from the Russian behemoth. To sit at a cafe 🍵 and hear my home language is still very much a strange thing.

The city, with a total population of just over 600,000, has integrated these individuals, with data indicating around 75% are female and 35% are under the age of 18. Roughly 12,000 people from Ukraine initially sought refuge in the city.
