I have a question for the Canadians on SW.

Do you pay income taxes in Cananda or just Work for a minor stipend?
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Sure we pay income tax.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Degbeme I knew you did, but it seems very heavy to me compared to the US.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@WillaKissing We are taxed to the hilt.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Degbeme Yeah, I got that from my few trips into Canada pre the covid crap. Honestly, I understand social medicine, and all forms a government need paid for, but ouch on the income.
Cuda6868 · 51-55, M
They should call them outcome taxes, all my money is constantly going out of my wallet to Trudeau.
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
I send them the Biden Bill of Approval
what's a "stiphen"? and i'll answer
WillaKissing · 56-60
@beermeplease It is a small payment meant to barely hold a person over until next pay day. Like one third of what they really earned
Guardian · 56-60, M
@WillaKissing yes! My salary is more like a stipend! Its ridiculous how little money I actually take home after taxes!
Guardian · 56-60, M
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Guardian Yes?????
Guardian · 56-60, M
@WillaKissing to my knowledge, we are not yet a communist country, so we do pay a LOT more taxes than Americans, which I suppose is the price we pay for free medicare for every Canadian.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Guardian Yeah and if you come to the US illegally you get the free health care the taxpayers pay for that, that do not have free health care, what the "F"!
MasterLee · 56-60, M
America wants more.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@MasterLee From the poor Canadians they can't afford to be Americans as it is!

Paying income tax is what makes a great country even greater to live in as evidenced by life in Canada. As with anything in life, you get what you pay for. If you don't pay, you don't get.

Canada does not have the crumbling infrastructure that the USA has been experiencing for the last 20 years because Canada pays for it through individual taxation of it's citizens. It's not that Canada pays way more than Americans do in taxation, it's about Americans not paying nearly enough in income tax which is why there is no money in the Fed to make America great in the first place.

The US National Debt is close to $35 Trillion the last time I looked, which means it takes 60% of every tax dollar the US Fed brings in each year JUST to pay the interest alone on their National Debt! That means that only 40% of every tax dollar is available to run the country and replace crumbling infrastructure, leaving virtually nothing for health care. But of course, 40% isn't nearly enough! This is because Americans don't pay enough tax. It is taxation that makes a country grow, not political ambition!

If you want to witness a country which charges it's citizens NO income tax at all, look no further than the Bahamas. But when you go to Bahamas, you are met with a Third World ambiance from the moment you leave the airport, not unlike many U.S. cities. The roads are bad in Bahamas, there is no 911 emergency service on your phone and there is no weekly garbage pickup at your residence. Why? Because their government doesn't charge it's citizens income tax. And if you want medical attention in Bahamas, you have to pay for it cash up front because they have no medical health plan in Bahamas for it's citizens.

The USA isn't really any different than Bahamas in that regard. If you get sick in the USA, you'll end up selling your house to pay for your heart transplant because it costs $10k per day to stay in an American hospital even if there's nothing wrong with you. Big fucking deal. America The Great? Seriously?

You get what you pay for and in the USA, you don't get anything because nobody wants to pay for it. Trump was right when he described his own country as a "crumbling shit-hole". I'm not a Conservative, but your Donny-boy was right!

@WillaKissing
The USA doesn't give anything away as 'charity' to other countries, even money. The only way the USA gets involved with any other country militarily or financially in what appears to be charity, is if there is something BIGGER in it for the USA. The USA is not a charitable organization nor ever has been, make no mistake about it.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@swirlie They gave Billions to the Ukraine in aid supplies cash and weapons for that proxy war and you are right I have no mistake it was given away without any pay back of the money or supplies for a proxy war.

@WillaKissing
The USA is getting paid back, don't kid yourself! No different than the USA is getting paid to have rent-a-soldiers stationed in Saudi Arabia as we speak, offering security to the Saudi government because that fears their own military will turn on them if they were in charge of Saudi government security.

The USA is making millions of dollars from it's involvement with Israel and Hamas right now, which the USA is receiving from the Israeli government for providing US military security! The USA would not be involved with Israel right now if there wasn't something in it financially for the US government!

You have to remember that as a country, the US is technically bankrupt financially because it cannot service it's National Debt without raising the debt ceiling to borrow more money which it then uses to pay the interest-owing on America's National Debt every month. How does it make you feel to know the US government borrows money to pay it's bills?

Why would someone from Ashland Kentucky care about Canadian income tax?
