I Am British

I was actually born in Wales (part of Britain) and live here now but have spent about half my life living in England in between. Britain is the only home I've known and I would say it's a pretty good place to be although I have my moments when I think the grass might be greener elsewhere.

We are very lucky to have our National Health Service which means that healthcare is available to all so, wealthy or otherwise, everyone has the same entitlement.

Britain is known for having its fair share (or more) of rain which, although tedious at times, does create a lush green environment and there are many scenic places all over Britain. Like most of Europe there is much of historic interest here. One of my favourite places I have visited is Caernarfon Castle in North Wales http://www.caernarfon-castle.co.uk. It is very well preserved and being there really does feel like being in some kind of timewarp. I get the impression that most visitors to the UK want to see London, primarily and, while there is plenty to keep people interested in London, it's a busy, hectic, city which probably doesn't represent the rest of Britain very well.

And for anyone who may be wondering I voted against Brexit and believe that Britain leaving the European Union is a mistake.

I absolutely love England! 😍 I went there last year on vacation (the husband and I drove to Calais and took the ferry over to Dover). I found all of the "stereotypes" to be false, such as the food being horrible, because it was so yummy! I can't wait to go back there again.
I've done extensive work on my family tree and about 70% of my ancestors are from either Scotland, Wales, or England, which I am very proud of! 👍
I also think Brexit is a huge mistake. What a pity for everyone! ☹

Haha, I hadn't heard the stereotype about the food being horrible! I'm glad that you disagreed and also that you loved being here. Great Britain has a long history so your ancestry findings don't surprise me. Hey, you have great ancestry! 😉 Do you think you and your husband will be visiting again soon?
