Yes, I do. Modern life is much easier than what they had it. One of my grandfathers was in the Civil War when he was 16, served several years mostly marching on foot thousands of miles. Came home & got married, moved to Nebraska, homesteaded land, built a home, farm, fence, drilled a well…had a successful farm and raised several children. And then had a grain mill in the small town near his farm on top of that. When he retired, he moved to Florida and bought an orange grove & sold oranges.

They’d be proud of me for beating up white girls in school

I can imagine they’d think I’m weak…

Mine would think :

Yes, I do.
They would be proud as so how far we have come in terms of prosperity / education.

We have a tradition of remembering and paying respects to ancestors , up three generations from me.

I don't think about it.

They are simple people and would be happy as long I'm able to afford a decent living.

Not what they think of me, but I have sometimes wondered what they were like. Who were they as people.

Probably depends how far back you go. lol
