“White” , “black , “Asian ” etc

Are vague and inaccurate terms in my opinion.
“White” people have different cultures , roots, histories and languages etc..
“Black” people come from diverse and different tribes
I mean Africa itself is a whole continent with very different traditions countries and languages.
Etc…
Unfortunately we try to push a whole large spectrum of beautiful and diverse people into small categories under vague terms
To make the weapon of racism easy to pull and use
And to fit our stereotypes , our lack of desire to learn and our own liking.

*sigh*

There's far more important issues occurring in the world right now so in all honesty no one actually cares about what words you think should and shouldn't be used...it's irrelevant and a non-issue.

However, you should be put right in that those terms are simply used to describe people from the Asian and African continent. It's not uncommon for people to stipulate what type of Asian person they're referring to (e.g East Asian) so you're wrong if you think they're all considered the same. Sometimes people do that with Africans too, because you have North Africa where many people appear to be Arabs and not Africans.

"White" is just used to refer to a white person from a predominantly white country. None of these terms are inaccurate and they're not vague when you accept that they're just in reference to people from those areas.

@Moon3624 lol I don't need to be taught manners 😂

Once again I didn't disrespect you but I don't know what makes you think you're entitled to respect anyway. Your argument was/is poor and you don't really have much of a point...all I've done is highlight that.

“I didn’t disrespect you but I don’t think you are entitled to respect “
Make up ur mind lol
And
my argument apparently is ridiculously poor but most ppl here agree with me with even personal experience?

See you referred to my opinion as poor just bc it differs from yours
When I never called ur opinion poor
Decent people don’t rudely tell other ppl “ur opinion is poor and doesn’t matter “
Simply differ with them and move on
The reason the world has so much conflict it’s bc of ppl with this mindset

@SW-User North Africa is a blend of Africans and Arabs. It was the Arabs who migrated there so they could enjoy the same luxuries that the people who live there do. Its not different than what you see here in the US.

You are so right . I lived in africa and each tribe has its own beliefs , traditions etc . Their cultures are very different . I will say one thing I found they all have in common , their very welcoming people . If you appear in a village you will always be welcomed and fed and made to feel part of the tribe . The other thing you find is depending what part of africa or what tribe they belong to their different shades of brown and black . Their languages are very varied as well . So what Moon3624 is very correct .

It's easier to put people into boxes than to think ...

it's a failing of the human species ..
even in SW .. the need to categorize and group people into similar boxes .. exists.

To be a bunny species is by far the superior option.

@SW-User bunnies are the best 😂🍀

"Asian" just means the person has the blood of someone from the Asia continent
Moon3624 · 18-21, F
@wackidywack true
many use it for east Asia only tho
Moreover even East Asians are diverse themselves
wackidywack · 26-30
@Moon3624 people use it for east asia because that's a part of asia. wherever east asians are from are still, ultimately, located in asia
Moon3624 · 18-21, F
@wackidywack
You do make a great point not going to disagree

But I also believe East Asians are quiet different
And our usage of the word is still wrong to put them all into one box
Because many sincerely grow up thinking Asia is only east of Asia or got one image of them
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
It is but people still use the terms because they become relevant factors to their personal experience of life. Like it's hard not to identify with being that label when people treat you differently because of it. So they will remain relevant terms until people stop caring about that kinda stuff.
Keep in mind that in America, most people don't really have much to do with their ancestral homes. If a Polish-American grew up here to parents who were also born here, they're not really going to be culturally Polish. They're just going to be a white American.

I agree completely. But how can we address the injustices of the past without usung the same language? Or should we embrace collective amnesia and look to a more optimistic future?

I never really saw much value in categorising people by race.

It can serve a purpose, I suppose, but I prefer to simply refer to myself as Irish.
