What is going on at universities?

I don’t know what’s going on at our universities with students demanding ‘safe spaces’ so they don’t have to meet ideas which might challenge their own pre-conceived crackpot ideas. We’ve even had professors forced out for stating scientific fact rather than PC rubbish by these morons. Universities should be places where we are free to exchange ideas and ultimate places of free speech. If you can’t take that university should be no place for you!

I don't understand it either, why supposedly highly-intelligent people who choose to go to university for career-winning education and to broaden their minds, should sink into amateur censorship of their own and worse, others' minds.

No-one should cause offence for the sake of causing offence, obviously, but there is no excuse for blocking even voicing or hearing differing opinions however uncomfortable. Such censorship is childish, petulant and cowardly.

Maybe the bullies are frightened they and others may find their opinions mistaken in fact. Or fear hearing other opinions irrespective of who is right.

Other perhaps are so shallow they think themselves the moral and intellectual guardians of others with whom they've probably never discussed the matter.
