Teacher hangs black doll from the TV

The school isn't allowed cameras but students snuck it in, this isn't the first time they must have had problems with her in order to sneak in stuff.

I saw that on Facebook. Of course it took place in Florida.

@jshm2 Also just with the brutal nature of hanging and often torture from before they were hung, what kind of a person would even think that's a good thing to do. Only someone with a severe lack of character would do something like that.

Must make two unrelated statements here

1. He has a point in saying that her excuse absolutely fails. What she did was totally racist and had nothing to do with grabbing attention.

2. What is sad as well though is that psychological tricks are necessary to grab students attention.

That really wasn't a thing for me as a kid. You were expected to listen to the teacher as soon as you went through the classroom door. Heck there were times the teacher made you switch chairs as soon as you entered the classroom. Teachers made notes about their own students needs.

@DeWayfarer that and if some of the students are undiagnosed autistic as well, clapping and other things could be triggering too. If I was a kid and you clapped in my face I could mistake that as you putting up hands and throw down on you real quick. Kind of like having someone put a finger in your face.

But I do agree that there's no respect anymore, screens have shortened kid's attention span by a lot. Many parents raise kids to be on the screen 24/7

@SatanBurger Believe me it's far more than the 24/7 TV.

I was a wild and free latchkey kid. Yet that was after school itself. I could watch anything I wanted, if it was available. Heck my father knew I was stealing his porn magazines. Far left bottom dresser drawer. He never moved them.

Yet school was totally a different situation. I mean it when I say I got awards for not missing a day of school. EVERY YEAR in grade school and junior high. Even when I got thrown back a year in second grade.

My problem wasn't with the teachers at all. I got thrown back for fighting with other kids, during recess. They were bullying me. You bully me, I sure as heck fight back. Popular or not.

I still do it. Even online.

No I was never popular. Nor am I now. That is today's problem. The need for being popular. They allow it, even when the teacher is attempting to teach.

The teacher should be the one looked upon by everyone else. Not the popular one(s) in the classroom. Yeah the very ones that need to be distracted by the teacher with clapping. You grab the popular one(s) attention first, you grab everyone else's attention.

A lesser version of shooting a gun in a crowded room.

Yes I know the psychology of the clap! The clap was never needed in school when I was a kid.

@DeWayfarer I think this teacher was just racist but I get what you're saying
