Why do racists say blacks are a race when blacks are diverse?

Why do we keep talking about this subject when all it does is keep people divide , I perfer to accept everyone for they are not a group of people .

Genetically speaking, Black Africans are closer to Caucasians than they are to Black Melanesians (and I mean superficial genetic differences, of course!!!)
