Colorblind is a cop out.

I know it’s tempting to say you don’t see color in the face of racism , but here are 3 things I’d like to point out .

1. Being Colorblind is an actual medical issue

People Who are colorblind ( from what I read Anyway) still see colors, it’s just that where someone with regular vision can see millions of shades, a colorblind person can only see around 10,000.

So I would argue it’s pretty insulting to those people to take a real condition, and try to hide behind to avoid uncomfortable realities.

2. It’s cowardly

No one’s forcing you to speak up , not everyone that sees something will say something. But the fact is that it’s better to not partake in the conversation than to waste everyone’s time with the “ I don’t see color .” Shtick

3. It makes you complicit

Do you know what’s worse than people harm others? Those who witness it but choose to look away.

I don’t care is a better stance than I don’t see color, because it’s a bit closer to the truth of
The matter.

to me people who claim they’re colorblind are very ignorant to racial issues. I don’t think they have bad intentions and just need some education

@Puppycat23 Educate me. My responses to people are based on the pain and pleasure principle. If they smell bad, I don't like them. If they pose a threat, I don't like them.
Puppycat23 · F
@sree251 Being ignorant of racial issues is not the same as responding to smells or threats. People who are “colorblind” ignore race or pretend its personal, social, and historical effects don't exist. They might say something racially insensitive that they think isn’t a big deal to the person who knows it is.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Puppycat23 Cite me a racial issue. Say something racially insensitive. Let's check it out.
Puppycat23 · F
@sree251 for example, asking someone who is Black out of curiosity why are black people so violent. They think their question isn’t a means to cause harm but don’t understand that stereotypes are a slap in the face to others.

Education? Or do you mean indoctrination?

@sree251 to say that’s indoctrination is not smart.
Puppycat23 · F
@sree251 and by looking at your responses to other comments you aren’t smart either
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Puppycat23 I am not smart like you are, Puppy. I have money. Do you have money? It is the only think that counts.
Puppycat23 · F
@sree251 I do have money. But you have no brain. To reply that racism doesn’t exist to another commenter is the most ignorant thing to say. It’s apparent you’ve never been exposed to racism, and those who haven’t had a racist incident in their life are the ones who says it doesn’t exist the most. And educating someone over racial issues is indoctrination? Please, you just want to say whatever nonsense to other races and expect them not to say anything back.

What other races? I am here on the internet to chat with you and others whom are just fellow conversationalists. We come here to talk. I don't know what you are, and I don't make assumptions about you. I just respond to your words. You may live in a world of racists. I don't. Is that so hard for you to understand? I do watch the news on TV but I don't draw the same conclusions about what others do. For example, the killing in Gaza is viewed as a racist conflict by news commentators, politicians, and others in this forum. I don't.

And I’m responding to yours and your words line up with someone who’s ignorant and fits into what this post is about.
You may live in a world of racists. I don't. Is that so hard for you to understand?
Well there you go. you’ve never been exposed to racism. But to boldly claim that racism doesn’t exist makes you look silly. Your experience doesn’t remove the fact that racism is a thing that still exists for everyone else who experience it.

And then to say that it’s “indoctrination” to educate someone over racial issues makes you look even worse. So my assumptions about you came from your replies.

They’re pretty much facts at this point. Because yes those who say there is no such thing as racism never experienced racism. Plus a lot of times those same people are racist themselves. You don’t believe racism exists then whatever negative stereotypes that comes out of your mouth about particular groups is not racist to you either. Way different from those who say they’re colorblind to race, even the person I met who stated he’s colorblind understood racism exists. And it’s obvious someone who believes speaking up on racial issues is indoctrination surely is racist.
This doesn't mean that I give you the authority to educate me about anything.
It pretty much does, don’t like that? Too bad.
I see the news about a white guy at Kroger who died two weeks after getting a beating from three black guys. Was that a racial issue
Funny how you say educating someone on racial issues is indoctrination and racism doesn’t exist but then you jump right into race.

I have never experienced racism. It seems to be a situation in which I would be physically attacked or pushed around for some reason. It never happened to me. Why don't you cite me an instance of racism and let's examine what it is about? Your diagnosis of the social disease would enable me to understand your conclusion.

Race is a fact. Racism is something else. I don't buy into conclusions of intellectuals of academia feeding rubbish to duds in college. Duds can't think. They gorge ideas fed to them. I studied engineering. What did you study?

Racism is also a fact.
Duds can't think.
And It’s apparent you’re that dud who can’t think.

Try engaging me in a conversation, Puppy. Are you scared?

Why would I be? You can’t think 😂
