@Peaceandnamaste It’s funny, Jefferson’s been gone for over 200 years, but chattel slavery is closer to now than people realize. People born into slavery were alive through the first four decades of the twentieth century. My father has pictures with his grandparents, who were enslaved as children. He remembers them well.
