It's best not to get involved unless you are willing to kill the person or get shot by a Slave Patrol thug when they show up and see you fighting, especially with a weapon in your hand. So, just keep on walking and doing what you were doing.
Remember what happened to that guy in Georgia who filmed the shooting. He provided evidence of what happened and he got a long prison term for his trouble.
