Probably no. It's objectively the right thing to do, but I'd almost certainly hesitate too much for fear of having missed some vital context or escalating the situation to the victim's detriment. I'm just not good in these types of situations.

I often carry a gun for protection. I’m sure that would come into play.

I’d intervene even if it wasn’t race based 🤷🏻‍♀️ Probably call the cops then do my best to distract/defuse until they got there. Usually just mentioning the cops are on there way breaks stuff up though.

i saw it once. i was in my car while a white man was standing on the corner and a black man was riding his bike very slowly through the crosswalk. out of nowhere the white man jumped towards the black man for no apparent reason, & punched his head so hard the guy fell off his bike & got the wind knocked out of him. i sped into a nearby parking lot & called the police. the beaten man was still in the street as i was driving away. i think in any situation like that, i would just call and keep watching from a distance, recording from my phone. i kinda regret that i drove away, even though i felt scared, i wish i'd stayed to see if the guy turned out okay.

I would be most unlikely to intervene in any attack - I would just call the police. But whether it was apparently racist or not would be irrelevant to me.

What kind of attack:

1. Verbal abuse at work? I would fire the abuser.

2. Verbal attack in a public place? I would not want to assume that the person who was attacked is not capable of taking care of themselves. But, if the situation allows it, I would offer appropriate words of encouragement to the victim. And depending on the situation, I may report it to the abuser's employer, in the USA, that would be cause for termination, whether or not on the job.

3. Physical assault: I would call the police, and if possible, step in to help.

I was attacked by a racist in public and no one intervened so I'm hesitant to believe anyone here who says yes.

Assuming it's obviously because of race, yeah. I'd curb stomp as many as I can.

Am I the same race as the attacked or the attackers? The former seems awfully dangerous.

I have. When I was 16 I saw some middle school kids harassing a white girl and ran them off. I waited with her until her bus came. She thanked me and was a very nice kid. I found out later she was the younger sister of really awful racist in my class. Possibly the kids were bullying her because of him; unfair because she was nothing like him.
But she told him, and he grudgingly thanked me for protecting her.

Id like to think that id kick their ass but in reality i stay home and avoid people and even unfriended people in church because they are vile racist

I'm indecisive. I might or might not. But my Sig 40 would almost certainly have a say.

There's been times that I have and times that I haven't. It depends on how much I've witnessed and on how the victim is responding too.

I would try to but I do have social anxiety so I'd probably distract the attackers by freaking out and panicking.

I might not wear pants, but i do wear combat boots. Happy to earn my irony laces stomping out a racist dickhead.

I would certainly call 911. I might yell 'stop, I see what you're doing" or something.

Yeah, I would. I would intervene in any attack that I had a realistic chance of stopping.
