Yeah pretty much. Only our grandmas used them.
Qlwo working in the resort businesses only elderly people ever used or asked for them.
They dont really serve mjch purpose honestly. I get it back in the day when people typically bathed only once a week and just cleaned up witb a cloth and bowl of water in between. But in shower times hands work just fine

@MethDozer Really ? 🤔
MethDozer · M
@bijouxbroussard really. It's not at all common with under the age of 60 really.
Those weird shower poof things for using shower gel are usually around.
I have wash clothes but I only use them to wash my facebin the sink occasionally.

@bijouxbroussard In fact at the last place housekeeping stop putting them in rooms because people just eneded up using them as dish rags or not at all.
Once inawhile the office would get a request for then, and it was always old white women.

@MethDozer I used to hear from our seniors that "white people don’t use them" and there was black chat site I used to visit in the early 2000s, where that was discussed at length. In my family, and among my friends who are black, their kids all use them, or they use exfoliating gloves like I do. I still use a washcloth on my face, though. Among white friends, some use them, some don’t.

@bijouxbroussard I think its the ashy thing. Every black person I know is or was deathly afraid to be seen as ashy. Where we don't show our ashyness as much.
But yeah, washclothes are definately less popular or common in my age group and below.

@MethDozer The washcloth isn’t what helps that, though. It’s using moisturizer afterwards. Like another poster said, the washcloth is for making sure to wash all the soap off.

@bijouxbroussard Iy heps get the dead dry skin off. I use one kf those poofy things for that diring the winter sometimes.

@MethDozer One thing I discovered in my 30s were exfoliating gloves, which are awesome for removing dead skin—and you can’t drop them like I used to do with loofas. 😅

@bijouxbroussard my current place has just a shower stall. What an ordeal it is when I drop something in that damn shower

@MethDozer I have a teak bench in my shower with a shelf that I keep my shampoo, conditioner, and gloves on. If I’m in a hurry, I stand, but in the evenings it’s cool to just sit under the water and relax.

@bijouxbroussard my shower doesnt even have enough room for that. I wish it did
