That only happens in your little socialist mind. Just remember Joe and Kamala; someday, you might be as bright as them.

No doubt bass and newsome are prime examples of the bestest and brightest of western intellegence

I would argue that the premise "right wingers are less intelligent is incorrect.
I am a liberal for the record. I have a college degree, work a white collar job and and am a book nerd but I have
conservative friends who have advanced degrees and also blue collar conservative friends that can do all sorts of cool stuff I wish I could do---like tinker with a car engine.
I don't think it is a brain thing but sometimes more a religoius embracement of traditionas embracement thing ---people who are more religious seem to lean right
In addition economics is not an easy topic to grapple with and I would say that most people, both liberals and conservatives overall have a poor understanding of economics including the sub topics of
labor economics,
opportunity costs,
economics of supply chain,
law of diminishing returns,
price elasticity
and others
It is just not an easy topic. I would say by contrast most voters are value voters who self label economics or economy voters on both sides of the isle. while really voting based on values.
in addition dumb and smart are not black and white but various shades of grey. For instance I wish I could repair cars for a living instead of negociating SaaS contracts. I mean a mechanic can say 1200.00 (or whatever the costs) or your car doesn't run
where i am stuck sellig conceptual models where ROI is aso a conceptual idea.
i am dumb when it comes to mechancial stuff but start to shine with conceptual models. My neighbor, the compele opposite. I don't look at him or anyone and think dummy but more see their strenghts / weakness and sometimes contrast it to my own.
I wish we Americans at, least, could see brains power as grey and appreciate those that are smart in ways we are not.

The party calling themselves Conservatives here in the US aren't really that conservative, and/or are metaphorically sleeping with ignorant reactionaries, along with sociopaths.
Say what you want about it (and I sometimes do), but its working for them politically at the moment.

@Patriot96 Well, see there you go. Years ago, both parties had a place for people with advanced academic degrees in them, and many of them were relatively conservative.
These days, for lots of reasons, there's fewer in both parties and virtually none on the Republican side, unless their degree was from a wacko right wing institution or a for profit diploma mill, and even then, its not a plus to push it when your base is populist and anti-education.
I guess, when I retire, I could go back for a PhD and write a disssertation, but at this rate, I don't expect there to be many opportunities other than maybe for the extremely wealthy at private schools.

@MistyCee Guess I am old school Republican. donald is essentially a populist and hijacked the "Republican" party with your garden variety reactionaries, along with sociopaths, who feel they are disenfranchised and are "victims"....

Left or right of center are where the smart people are.
MethDozer · M
More open minded, less prone to confirmation bias, much less likely to religiosity, and historically more aquatinted with and less hostile to education, science, and academia.
The left looks forward, the right looks back.
