The Polish shot at migrants trying to break their barriers, why don’t the English do the same?

Is it a consequence of not arming their police force they have all the problems that have stood up now in the person of their indigenous population? Should they ignore the humanitarian calamity of the boats and shoot them down as they try to force their borders?

With the English it would be a tad hypocritical, considering all the countries they’ve invaded in the process of "empire-building". And rather than being there seeking sanctuary, they were there taking over.
