@Anniedlr Funny, some people whose families have been here 200 years refer to Native Americans as "Asian", too. But 20,000 years on any other continent gives you the right to call yourself "indigenous".
No that’s not the only argument against it. There’s an affordable housing shortage now and more working class people are becoming homeless as a result while these “immigrants” are getting rent vouchers handed to them and places to stay not mention food stamps and other things for free (not taxed). They are also sending a huge amount of that cash out of the country to relatives, taking it out of our economy’s circulation when they work cash jobs and don’t report it. Twenty-five per cent of jailees here are immigrants putting a heavy burden and overcrowding on jails and prisons and law enforcement. The public school system is overcrowded now as well and they are giving these new arrivals English lessons at a cost to the system plus summer school and free bus rides back and forth. One of illegal students started a fight at school and was arrested because he wasn’t even a citizen, come here and start crap right off the bat. Some of them are working in illegal industries such as drug trafficking to get cash. A high percentage of sex offenders are also illegal immigrants.
@cherokeepatti You have to remember we're Natives, before the european colonizers we didn't have any borders, the mega majority of those coming over are our relatives in blood and heritage.
@NativePortlander1970 We have borders now and people taking advantage of taxpayers. No other country gives all these benefits at the expense of the citizens. And they are not sending their best now either. Not like 30 years ago when people were willing to work hard for a living and not take things from the state.
I spent the weekend in a different part of the state, and the previous week in Texas.
Not once did an immigrant, legal or illegal (with the exception of that one Middle Eastern guy, charging a small fortune for Falafel), tried to rob me, mug me, harass me, or otherwise offend me.
But here's what I saw: homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks, benches, bus stops.. And most heartbreaking: around VFW halls.
Yes, there were a lot of non-whites looking people, pushing lawnmowers, doing agriculture work, etc.
A bunch of red necks, from some motorcycle gang, were harassing freeway-goers, with their reckless driving.
Oh boy, there are so many misconceptions and incorrect information in this post. No wonder people have the opinions about conservatives and immigration they do if this is the information being peddled.🤦♀️😣

You literally can't have the infinite growth required to make the economy function without population increases and as people get wealthy, they stop having 11 kids because it costs money to have kids rather than saves money.

yeah yeah that all sounds nice but the issue also lies when they take resources away from Americans that NEEDED the resources first. if you like immigrants so much go move to one of their countries.

There was no America until 1776 because the country didn't exist before then. For the first 100 years of America's existence the only ethnic groups wanted were White Europeans and Black Africans. Hispanics got in because of the Mexican-American War and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
Chinese immigrants couldn't become citizens until 1943 although their kids born in America before that were citizens.
Indigenous Indians didn't become citizens until 1924. Before that they were not Americans.
