If you are an employer and their W2 gets bounced back by the Social Security Administration there's a bit of probability that they are not legal. That probability goes up a few notches if they are already gone when you get that SS letter.

@Lostpoet I actually support immigration laws. But my thing is the assumption that people here illegally look a certain way or only belong to certain ethnic groups, which isn’t so.
@bijouxbroussard I'm from the Philippines and have lived in America for more than 20 years. I never heard anything negative toward me until maybe the last 3 or 4 years, half-drunken a-holes now and then yelling out their cars at me.
@Moondreaming That’s the kind of thing I mean. A close friend, whose family has lived in California since back when it was part of Mexico, received a note in her mailbox during Donald Trump’s campaign from someone telling her she needed "go back" where she "came from". 🙄
