Do you think this 'cancel culture' is actually quite harmful and begets more hatred/judgement unnecessarily?

Once I thought the virtual world was a mirror image of 'reality.'

Now I think the opposite. It used to take decades for a shift in society. Now it takes months, sometimes hours.

The effect has taken place before there is any opportunity to dissect and analyze it.

We are riding a runaway horse.
