This sound like 1935/45 German talking

ANY TALK LIKE THIS SOUNDS LIKE A DICTATOR
The US needs Greenland, this is non-negotiable.
What is negotiable are the terms under which ownership of the island will transfer from Denmark to the USA.
Trump needs to make clear to Denmark and the EU that the era of European colonial empires in North America is over. That era ended over two centuries ago, but yet here you are, occupying the largest island in North America. Up until now, nobody really cared. The Arctic seemed rather irrelevant to us, and many Americans weren't even aware of the fact that a massive chunk of our continent was occupied by a European power.
But now the time has come for the Danes to say goodbye to Greenland and let the US take over and develop that region the way only America can. Let's face it, in the centuries that Denmark has occupied Greenland, they have done almost nothing with it. There are barely 57,000 residents, so Denmark clearly failed in settling it. The oil, gas, and rare earth minerals have remained untouched. There is no highway network connecting the disparate communities, and there is only one (very small) city. Denmark has also barely deployed any military forces to defend it against the many growing threats.
So Denmark, let's make a deal.
Trump should offer Denmark a significant payment for the island, at least in the tens of billions of Dollars. Denmark should also receive preferred nation status, and a very generous trade deal between Denmark and the US.
Danish language and culture should be enshrined in the new constitution of Greenland, and Denmark should be allowed to maintain cultural and economic ties with the island.
All the current residents of Greenland should be allowed to remain and keep all their property, receive full US citizenship, and each resident should receive a one-time stipend of at least $150,000.
To placate Denmark for the loss of territory, it should be allowed to retain control of all large islands off the coast of Greenland, so they won't have to remove the symbol of Greenland from their coat of arms and can truthfully claim that they still retain part of the region.
These seem to be incredibly fair terms upon which to negotiate. Denmark needs to be made to understand that relinquishing Greenland is unavoidable, and that they would be wise to accept these generous terms. Because if they refuse, there will always be option B, and we all know what that means...

I think Europe owns 50 % of commercial ships , imagine they stop arriving in USA. Officially US owns 178 ships and about 800 privately owned. US owns 2 ice breakers. U.S. icebreakers, particularly the Polar-class (like Polar Star and Polar Sea), are quite old, with construction in the 1970s (1972-1978), making them 45-50+ years old. Greenland's waters are ice free for 3 months per year. Arctic presence requires icebreaking capabilities. Its not like you can invade it with pick up Ford.
