Do people ever tell you you don't look like the ethnicity you are?

I'm Hispanic/Latino (Mexican and Argentinian descent, mostly), I have a Spanish surname, yet people tell me all the time I don't look it 😅 They've never been to Latin America, I guess. A lot of people of European descent there, and various eye, hair, and skin colors. "Hispanic" covers a wide range.

That kind of comment usually reveals a kind of prejudice about what any particular person 'should look like'. Personally, I try to fight hard against assumptions about who people are and try to form an opinion as I get to know them. Ethnicity says nothing about your character, abilities or value as a human being.
