My ancestry is Mexican on my dad's side (my grandad was a full blooded Nahua), and Irish and Scottish in my mom's.
I also get the whole "you don't look Hispanic" nonsense.
There are people in Mexico with my ancestry like Damian Chapa and Carlos Gallardo.
People also need to understand that Hispanic just means the main language used as communication in the country your family originally came from. It's like Francophone or Anglosphere. It's got nothing to do with race or ethnicity.

@basilfawlty89 Yeah. “Latino” is even more broad, as it can include Brazil. The countries in the Western Hemisphere south of the US can be very diverse.

@WestonTexan Although I'm Italian on both sides, my maternal grandmother lived in Argentina and had blonde hair and blue eyes. But there were so many influences on Italy, including occupation for a long time by the Normans.

@WestonTexan I would add that the individual is more importnt in the effect he can have on others than his background or ethniciity.
