California is not socialistic. Socialist means communistic. Europe is not communistic and neither is California.

They just believe in stronger government, and more services for those who need it. Like free childcare for preschool and after school programs until parents get off work for people who need it, stuff like that. I have no problem paying taxes so we have good services for people who need it.

I think we should have free college like many European countries too... stuff like that.

Europe is not capitalistic. People can have their own businesses there too though. The Government is trustworthy and will not put up with abusing businesses. USA is capitalistic.

Capitalism is an economic system of competitiveness that is valuing money making above all else, not human beings. Democratic systems like Europe care about people more than money. The USA is competitive and many are too stressed out and are homeless, mentally ill, shoot up schools etc.

Western Europeans are not wealthy but happy! Most have more than Americans. Its not stressful because the mentally ill, old, poor, homeless are taken care of so everyone can be happy!

@Carazaa I've heard from individual Hawaiians who disagree, but I doubt they're going to revolt...

@jshm2 They might feel controlled by Denmark and they might feel they need protection against Russia and China who have submarines and have some interest too.
