Why do black people neglect the batteries in their smoke alarms?

Look at homemade videos of blacks and you hear the chirp warning sound repeatedly. Hilarious

It might be a wealth thing? Newer and better homes have the alarms wired into the house electric. I'm whiter than mayonnaise but I'm very familiar with hearing that sound growing up.
