Why do most commercials that depict interracial couples consist of a black man with a woman who is anything but black?

And why is no one speaking up about this trend?

I agree.
Every time I see interracial couples in commercial my husband and I laugh and wondering when we could get some bonus from government! (My husband is white and I’m Asian)
It is true in real life I don’t see interracial couples that much, why do they have to push that idea into our face daily…😵‍💫

I think that by making any couple in a commercial interracial, it opens up their product to any race or combination. It's probably supposed to neutralize the subject of race. For the longest time, it would have been a white couple because the majority of the country is white and any other ethnicities would be advertising products specific to those ethnicities, possibly causing all others outside of said ethnicity to lose interest in their marketing campaign.

It's either interracial as you said or gays. They are forcing this down our throats although I definitely have less problems with interracial commercials. That said I'm not comfortable with either.

@ManKing that is a interesting question and I don't really have an answer. I have had black male friends married to white women. It is becoming more common place. I personally feel that the commercials are encouraging it. Part of making everyone equal I guess. We are white with white. I'm not comfortable with it but honestly can't say it's wrong. But the commercials are definitely trying to form the publics way of thinking.

The guy in commercial interracial couples has been white for years now. Only very recently have they introduced non-white guys. And what's wrong with that?

@ManKing you lead with "And why is no one speaking up about this trend?" and then follow up with no one said it's wrong..?
