Hey, is human skin color related to natural selection?

Just curious 🤔 is skin color related to ancestors surviving in a different environment?

Skin color is probably one of the best examples of natural selection acting on a human trait.

Dark pigmentation offers protection against UVB and UVA near the equator. Light pigmentation, promotes seasonal, UVB-induced photosynthesis of vitamin D3 near the poles. Intermediate latitudes (seasonally high loads of UVB) favor the evolution of people with moderate constitutive pigmentation who are capable of tanning.
Pretty much.
Skin colour is an adaption to environment.

Light skin absorbs vitamin d better. So at longitudes further away from the equator, human populations 'paled up' from original dark skinned people .

Hunter's laptop?
Im not sure what causes it.. i heard of a girl in Jamaica or Barbados (i forget) who was born black when her whole family was white (and she is white now) so idk what causes it.. its mostly presumed to be genetics but who really knows
