Ethnicity, race…and music

I recently found this photo online. If you know jazz, you probably know who they are, and I think it’s from when they toured together.
But one thing I thought of: in the U.S., this is a picture of a white man and a black man. If you don’t know the individuals, would you be able to tell who was who ?

i don't know who they are, but they look nearly the same in almost every way to me
@SW-User And yet this photo was controversial in some parts of the U.S. in 1946.

@bijouxbroussard crazy. we've come a long way, yet not far enough. it's fundamentally disappointing, when you consider George Floyd has only been gone just over 2 years
@SW-User True, and some people are still trying to justify his murder based on mistakes he made during his lifetime. Ironically, these are some of the same folks who think the police should’ve shown restraint while Ashli Babbitt was actively committing a crime. But I digress.

@bijouxbroussard it's totally befuddling, and their willful ignorance makes our country a more dangerous place for all of it's citizens. they are the danger.
