Technically a soul doesn't have any gender, so it don't need a mate. It's our deep emotions that makes us think like that.

@nightjourney Only the body has gender. There have been instances of rebirth where a male has taken rebirth as female or vice versa. A soul doesn't have anything that can be identified with gender.

@nightjourney Yes, it's just a term coined because when you feel deeply connected with someone or feel the need to deeply connect with someone, people term their deep emotions as relating to soul. But actually it's just your mind's act relating to emotions.
