I Am A Real Werewolf

Okay, Listen Up... Alright, I am both physically and mentally tired, and I am also tired of having to say the same thing over and over again. So, let us just clarify about the concept of biting. I will try to make this as simple as possible.

First: there is no known evidence to validate the concept that a werewolf can change another person into a werewolf.

Second: the concept, even in myths and legends, barely if at all existed before the age of movies because, while it lacks logic in real life, it is an excellent plot device to show a person's life "changing" from being socially awkward to being confident and cool, or just to make you feel sorry for their "curse".

Third: there is no good justification for wanting to be a werewolf or anything other than what you are because changing what you are will not change who you are and, most of the time, people only want to be changed because they do not like their current life. So, instead of facing their problems, they seek a release. They want to run away and be in the woods and feel the wind on their face and be free, etc. In reality, life is not that simple. Your problems do not cease to exist just because you ignore them. In fact, almost all of the time, they get worse.

Fourth: any person who would actually come to where you are and bite you to "change" you is not someone you would want near you in the first place. No real wolf is going to out themselves so easily, much less take the time and money to drive or fly to your house and put their mouth on a stranger's body.

Fifth: because you are wanting to become a werewolf, I would assume then that you do not know what it is like to be a werewolf. You will not be super-strong, be able to hear someone whispering a mile away, become magickally "cooler" as a person, or join some battle between werewolves and vampires. You will be a person who is inescapably different from the general public. You will be laughed at for even mentioning the word "werewolf". You will have nightmares about being chased or chastised. You will cry at times because you know you are not alone, but you still feel separated and dwarfed by a mass of people who might either not believe in you or even hate you. To be so different in a world that deifies the concept of normality is not an easy life. If you are this way, then you learn to accept and live with it, but there is no logical reason to wish for it. I do not believe in normality, but I still would not wish for someone to be so different and have to live so conflicted.

Finally, to all who wish to be bitten and "changed", please just ask yourself this one question: why do you want to be a werewolf? Tell me honestly that you think you have a good reason for changing what you are; one that it is actually worthwhile and not some selfish desire to change yourself because you cannot deal with your own problems in life. If you think you have a good and justified answer to this, then feel free to say it.

ok u realize that you have given no proof you are a real wolf
Drachona · 31-35, M
Prove to me that you are a real human. I know, not quite so fair a comeback, but a good point all the same. I would argue though, that I might be more legitimate than some of the people you say you have spoken with because I have been talking about this stuff for years and I have done a ridiculous amount of research on the subject of werewolves. Did you know that Rome was supposedly founded by two brothers who were suckled by a she-wolf? Did you know that Damarchus was a self-proposed werewolf in the Greek Olympics for boxing? Did you know that St. Christopher was supposedly a cynocephali or dog-headed man? Did you know that rabies is one of many explanations meant to explain not only werewolves, but vampires as well? Did you know that one of the most popular researchers of werewolves is a woman named Linda Godfrey who personally believes that werewolves are spiritual beings that have accessed portals through burial mounds? Did you know that Peter Stubbe was a man who confessed to being a werewolf after not only killing a bunch of innocent people, but eating the brains of his own son? Did you know that the Benandanti or "Good Walkers" were supposedly werewolves who once fought off witches and other beings to save human villagers? I know my history and I know what I am. I do not need to bend over backwards to prove that to you, especially because I am almost certain you would not believe me. I went through the nightmares and my subconscious telling me something I did not want to accept. I learned, not without difficulty, how to be "normal" without compromising who and what I am. I even, just to see how they would react, confessed myself to a psychologist who, after not believing me, tried to pin me with any disorder in the DSM, but failed miserably. I function well in society and, in truth, I am quite successful academically for my age. And yet, I say I am a wolf. You can choose whether or not to believe me, but that is on you.
AtheistWolf
you are not the only 1 who's done research i know all the history i've knew 4 a while but werewolves are sadly a thing of myth so till im changed they sadly are myth
SoulOfTheWolf
"Till im changed they sadly are a myth" first, wow, i admire your courage and bravery to test this in the name of science even if it results in your life being destroyed. Really, i do. That being said, why ruin your life for something that will change your life forever? And not in a positive way. If you do manage to prove or disprove this there will be two reactions from the public, either a "Nooooooooo? You just figured that out Einstein? Or a " This guy may be suffering from a severe mental disorder" response. I would leave this alone, this is definently something that you SHOULD NOT experiment with, for the safety of yourself and for the future ahead
AtheistWolf
im saying werewolves aren't real because people believe they are werewolves and im saying unless someone changes i wont believe in werewolves because someone belives they are wolves
SoulOfTheWolf
Sorry for my mislead comment, your statement just came off as you wanted to become a werewolf to prove if the legends were true or false. Again, my apologizes
AtheistWolf
No I was saying I don't believe in werewolves and unless I see tangible evidence I won't believe other wise
Drachona · 31-35, M
I seem to remember you asking to be "changed" before, AtheistWolf, but then why dwell on that. I can see that logical conversations are not going to be possible with you. They don't exist because you say so is not an argument. If you choose to not believe in werewolves because you have no solid evidence (which begs the question have you even been looking for it, or are you just waiting for it to appear), then that's fine. Feel free. I do not care about beliefs, I care about science. I am presenting what I know based on what I have learned, experienced, and theorized. More importantly, this entire side-conversation is completely away from the point of my story. You are avoiding the points I made about being changed because, unless you get what you want, nothing else matters. Before you start talking about reality, confront the legitimate critique of wanting to be "changed" that I have presented. You don't have to believe that I am a wolf. My points still stand regardless.
AtheistWolf
I said I would want to be chanhed not that anyone is capable of it
AtheistWolf
*changed
AtheistWolf
The idea that one can change the way there body is structured is illogical what happens to the mass
AtheistWolf
The law of conservation of mass, or principle of mass conservation, states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy (both of which have mass), the mass of the system must remain constant over time, as system mass cannot change quantity if it is not added or removed. Hence, the quantity of mass is "conserved" over time.
AtheistWolf
If you say you are a werewolf that would mean hunters are and in your particular case you would not be a major lost for your pack and because of that you won't be missed if a hunter "retires you"
AtheistWolf
Idk
SoulOfTheWolf
Well... That ended somewhat quickly
AtheistWolf
I could not dispute his logic
AtheistWolf
Life sucks no matter what
AtheistWolf
No I'm not weak I don't talk about emotions because I lack them I am a borderline sociopath I am simply stating One minute it's about logic the next it's not
Drachona · 31-35, M
Both of you be calm. Strivexwolf, you have a point. Although, I was not encouraging argument. Actually, I was suggesting that we get back on topic. Whether or not werewolves exist and whether or not you can be changed is irrelevant to my argument. My point was all about why it makes no sense to want it in the first place. And AtheistWolf, I understand how you feel. Your opinion has been made clear, and so there is no reason to continue with it. Let it lie here and, to both of you, either focus on the topic at hand or express your frustrations elsewhere. There is a difference between conversation/debate and senseless arguing. I would like to keep it that way.
AtheistWolf
Well by definition a sociopath feel no remorse and I don't to a extent I only feel for my family but I have a strong sense of loyalty and to get back on topic drachona a lot of us want the bite for the power that comes with it
Drachona · 31-35, M
You were not hostile, but the over a dozen responses before I stepped in were a lot of going back and forth without getting anywhere. And I was referring to the point of my story, not all of this. Most of the comments have avoided the actual content of my story. That was my main concern, that all of this is neither entirely relevant nor getting anywhere.
AtheistWolf
There is truth to that but drachona a lot of us see being werewolf as a gift and a power that comes with it
AtheistWolf
Only for those of small mind and will power
Drachona · 31-35, M
What exactly are you saying, AtheistWolf? I never said it was a "curse". A lot of what I mention is negative, but it has nothing to do with actually being a werewolf. It's about how society reacts to it that makes it difficult. And what power do you expect you would get? And what would you do with this "power"? Being a werewolf is not what you think it is, and you cannot just run around and be free. We are in hiding for a reason, because humanity would not react too well to such a realization. There are ways of revealing ourselves safely, but running around abusing what you are is not the way to do it. More important than what you say, Strivexwolf, and what I have been saying this whole time is that there is no justification for becoming a werewolf. You speak of a "gift" and a "power". Again, what "gift" exactly? What "power"? If you are not a werewolf, how would you know what comes with being one? Books? Movies? Things that humans created in order to sell werewolves for entertainment purposes. Policemen actually exist, but that does not mean that how they are portrayed in movies is accurate. You are assuming that you know what it is like when you could not possibly know because you are asking to become one. You may not believe me when I say I am a wolf, but most of my argument still stands as a valid critique. I wish I could explain in enough detail what it is like to be a werewolf in today's world, but you do not seem to want to listen to me. Just humor me enough to sit down and contemplate one day, just one day, in the life of being a werewolf. How do you think that would go? Please tell me. I am being completely serious; no sarcasm, no jokes. What do you think you would do or be able to do as a werewolf?
AtheistWolf
I still don't believe in shapeshifters that idea is illogical to me because of the law of conservation of mass and I don't really know because there is no proof personally me If you can shape shift and look like a real wolf I'd just stay wolf fuck humanity I'd just live like a wolf but of course otherwise I can't say what I would do because I don't know the truth and have never been in that situation
Drachona · 31-35, M
You cannot just live like a wolf because you are still human to some extent. Repressing either side can be psychologically catastrophic. And thank you for admitting that you would not know. That is all I was trying to say. If you do not believe in shapeshifting, then do not ask to be changed because it seems contradictory to not believe in something and yet want to be a part of it.
