no.there would bound to be more sightings.and what do they eat?if they are supposedly a large ape,like a gorilla it would need pounds of vegetation a day.theres not much vegetation above about 12000 feet.

Snow Leopards,and Himalayan animals like Takin,Chiru and others that specialise in living in high alpine regions are all very very rare.Yet they are quite often seen,their bodies found,prints,fur etc.So a large ape creature would easily be spotted,
