If you're an artist, how long can you draw/paint/write before your hand starts hurting?

I can go for just a little less than 2 hours,
And then it feels like a shipping container was dropped on my hand.

It's annoying because I feel like I should be able to do more 😔

I don't write for art, but I can do it for 6+ hours, probably longer.

Writing in a way that it can be read by others, or even myself 3+ months later, is the actual challenge

I can go for a long time ain’t no telling …
There’s was this one time tho I was doing pre sketches for paint nights and one session was 500 16 x 20 canvases and yes … my hands were cramping

I think like an hour 20 or something for drawing..

If it's Very much Detailed then probably 5 hours or so
Not long, but Ive also had surgery on my wrist after snapping my tendon and my grip is for shit

Painting/drawing don't bother my hands and I can do it for 8 hours+. But writing, yeah. Doesn't take long

@Fishy yeah! Look up some good hand stretches to add in between when your hands start to feel crampy. Helps a lot! ☺️

@caccoon that sounds cool, I'll look it up,

Tho, I don't really get crampy,

For me I just get this really bad, throbbing ache on the middle finger of my drawing hand,
Especially the tip joint near the fingernail

I even got this weird lump 😂

@Fishy I have that lump as well. I try to use things like markers for drawing, and painting is very gentle

I never use pencil or anything because I find apply pressure to be a pain
