I should like to have a word with the intelligent designer, if I may

Today, I wish to discuss the ludicrously inefficient digestive system of the three-toed sloth. Like everything else they do, these animals digest their food very, very slowly, taking up to thirty days to digest a single leaf. And when they do finish digesting their food, they are obliged to descend from the safety of the trees, because they simply cannot defeсate whilst hanging from a branch. This makes their monthly trip to the facilities the most dangerous time of their lives, because as you know, these poor creatures cannot outrun a tortoise, let alone a large carnivore.

Tell me, please, what the intelligent designer had in mind for these unhappy beasts.

And yet they have survived for 50 million years.

And it was humans who seem to have been the main reason for their 90% reduction 10,000 years ago when sloths roamed the Americas.

Why do you believe they're unhappy - their life is natural to them - what do they really have to compare a life to for one to even think that they are unhappy. And considering all things about them - how would one know what they feel.
