Here's a gotcha question for you science-denying creationists: If radiometric dating isn't reliable, why does big oil rely on it to find oil?

Y'all like to say that radiometric dating can't be trusted when it says thins are older than your religion calls for....and yet these multi-billion dollar companies rely upon it in order to locate and extract petroleum.
How do you explain that?

I anticipate a deafening silence in response to this question.

Have you ever heard that “With the lord a day is like thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”.
Time isn’t the essence.

@Quimliqer So your god does not interact with spacetime? In that case, it cannot affect anything in the universe, but must necessarily remain outside... in which case it’s of no consequence
With the lord a day is like thousand years
Actually that particular explanation is irrelevant here because the estimated age of the earth at between 6 and 10 thousand years as espoused by young earth creationists isn't based on anything like the days of creation but on the calculation of the genealogies recorded in the bible.

I mean sure, let's take Peter's letter as fact and not poetry if we like but that doesn't really solve anything for the YEC.
Take the "day is like a thousand years" up with them lol

What’s your point?
@Quimliqer

My point is that radiometric dating precludes young earth creationism and that while YEC would like to pretend that it's not accurate, billions of dollars depend on it being accurate and so far it has proven reliable enough to make billions of dollars.
