Not Enough Parking Spaces To Go Around In Wales Welsh Councils Should Do More.

[b]Couple stunned to find note on their car telling them not to park in their own street
The mystery message stated that their details had been taken and reported to the council.
A couple were stunned to find a note left on their car warning them not to park on their own street.

Nicci Williams from Buckley in Flintshire said she and her partner discovered the handwritten message, which had been placed inside a plastic wallet and left on the vehicle, on Tuesday, March 23. It read, "Don't park here this is resident's parking ONLY. There is a free 24 hour car park around the corner next to small shop. Details taken and reported to council."

Incensed, Nicci - who's lived on the street for three years - described her "disbelief" at being targeted and called the note "absolutely ridiculous." "We parked behind our house on a street with no double yellows or disabled lines, road tax paid and Highway Code abided by - so report us to who you like," she posted on Facebook.

"Absolutely ridiculous that people think they're entitled to tell others where to park. Any damage to the car and we’re sending the police to your door, we know exactly who you are.

"And it's not residents parking - residential parking would mean parking permits, there are absolutely no restrictions for parking here." Speaking to North Wales Live, Nicci said: "We were both in disbelief really, we have lived here for nearly three years and have always parked there."

Parking is getting difficult everywhere I have had my own problems where I live I fully understand their feelings there aren't enough parking spaces to go around our councils don't consider motorists anymore.

People are looking at this the wrong way. Cars have obviously become too cheap if the Welsh can afford them..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman In live in the town of Caerphilly the town centre has been run down for years the town centre has one suitable carpark which is full by 9.00am every morning so shoppers either bus it or walk into the town centre there is available land suitable for a carpark but Caerphilly Council doesn't care about local shoppers they simply support out of town precincts and the big five or six supermarkets there is a small road called Park Lane Caerphilly which could solve the parking problem instead Caerphilly Council are now building a large hotel there as if Caerphilly needed another hotel. In my experience my local council are to blame that no doubt isn't the case elsewhere I'm sure the majority of places have better councils.

@senghenydd Remember that it is usually big business that put money into political campaigns. I know thats historically very much an Americal thing. But its also truth in your country and mine. Of course they would argue its about jobs as well. My daughter and I live out in the "burbs " where a driveway always there and capable of taking a couple of cars or a meduim truck or small bus. My son in an apartment dweller in the city by choice and pays for a parking spot in a nearby building. I know thats not your situation. But renting a spot is a solution in some cases.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Renting parking spots is something new it's associated to sporting venues where locals usually rent out their driveways to supporters, I don't live near a sports stadium but have been approached by a van owner who was interested in renting out my drive it's a funny old world in my country after continuously renting out a drive for twenty years the drive would belong to the person who rented out the drive it's not an option I would ever consider doing myself but it's certainly a good idea for stopping the streets from being less congested.

@MarmeeMarch Some people park in this street because all the nearby streets require parking permits I've seen strangers with no connection simply get out of their vehicles and do a runner one women would walk two to three hundred yards and catch the train to Cardiff and spend most of the day shopping return with bags of shopping and drive off I suppose I can't blame her the park and ride carpark for the Railway Station would be full at that time of day others would be visiting relatives from faraway and leave their vehicles in this street knowing full well they wouldn't receive a parking ticket then there is the regulars like the lorry driver who is breaking the law by (1) Parking is lorry on the pavement also Leaving his commercial vehicle unattended and lets not forget the Mini-bus driver who doesn't give a damm he's breaking the law parking by being too near a Junction and parking on a pavement there's a metal box for Broad-band also on the pavement so he's stopping wheel-chair users from using the pavement in a perfect world there would be plenty of parking places the planners never had any idea there would be so many cars or vans on the roads and as a result we have a parking problem.
