Kidnapping of Maduro: What has Trump done now in our name?

From extra-judicial killing and piracy in the Caribbean, Donald Trump has now used the US military to abduct a sitting President and his wife from Venezuela. All of that were not covert actions that a sitting President can deny any knowledge of and shield the American people from culpability. Trump has transformed the USA from world policeman to a bully.

How would an American defend his country as a force of good and not evil?

He's not a sitting president, dufus. He lost the election in 2024 by a lot, and refused to cede power. He assumed power in a "special election" in 2013, propped up by China and Russia.

Venezuelans are celebrating in the streets like they just won the World Cup

Just the recent indictments...

I agree, but there is a significant difference. Previous regime changes often lead to prolonged war, and enrichment of those with their fingers in the pot of the military industrial complex.

The regime is still intact. Let's see if Maco Rubio dares step foot in Venezuela.
@sree251 Wanna bet on that?

Several countries have already come out condemning Trump's actions. Even Macron in France. This does reputable damage to the United States. And guess what? Venezuela has not surrendered. This is like the moment Israel attacked Iran last year and took out the air defenses. The media, especially Fox News, concluded Iran was done. Their nuclear program was destroyed. Iran was finished and had no choice but to bow to our will. Venezuela isn't going to yield to the United States.

they always object and then enable!

Who are "they"?
Ohplease47 · 70-79, FNew
@SW-User I know. Trump is not a rational man or an ethical man. The human part of the world is all right with him and that remarkable country!
HoeBag · 51-55, F
So Venezuela went from one dictator to another.

Some of their citizens are happy about Maduro's capture, but if the US is running the nation for the moment, that is basically just a lateral move as far as "leadership".
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@HoeBag you think the politicians (not news people ) who put him down are his enemies ? They’re not. They’re his teammates. Right now republicans are first string dems second string. Second string always wants to be first string . But same team
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@AthrillatheHunt I guess these crooks stick together.

Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodríguez condemned the U.S. attack and capture of President Nicolás Maduro on Saturday, saying in a televised address the nation "will never return to being the colony of another empire."

Why is your image inappropriate? I dare not look.
How many countries will Rump have to take, how many people will he need to kill or displace, before he is confirmed a Nazi and the world does something about it?
Right now I don't even know who he hates, he seems to hate everyone that doesn't pay him money.
Doesn't Venezuela have any support from surrounding countries? No friends at all? Will they just let the US take over their country? You know Venezuela is going to be the 51st state now. I wonder who will be 52?

@AthrillatheHunt I get to laugh louder than you. I dont live there. But when America collapses (and thats no longer an "if" question) A lot of people around the world are going to feel it.. Including a lot of oil rich states run by people with shipping containers full of money and Drug warlords.. So its not all bad..😷
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@whowasthatmaskedman I realistically don’t know how it’s gunna turn out but remain hopeful

Yes the US has gone completely rogue. Trump has been an extreme disappointment. I know he did this because his owners told him to do it.

Mamdani said he was anti Maduro. So be it. American people never elected any socialists. Just neocons.
SW-User
@Roundandroundwego No, it's always a trick. Just like Obama. You need about a billion dollars just to win an election in the U.S. Mamdani doesn't work for the people of NYC. He works for the people who funded his campaign.

He works for the people who funded his campaign.

All US political campaigns are funded by the same people.
@sree251 could be he's another neoconservative. Time will tell, I sure hope I'm wrong!

....and this is just what he's prepared to brag about.

Imagine the stuff he might have ordered or 'inspired' third parties to do that you know nothing about.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Its not possible. America is now the Evil Empire and every American who continues to live there is going to be seen by the rest of the world in the same way as the German people were during and after WW2. As silent accomplices. They voted him in...Twice.. No excuses..😷
every American who continues to live there is going to be seen by the rest of the world in the same way as the German people were during and after WW2

so which countries are willing to take us Americans in as refugees now?

@whowasthatmaskedman
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ThirstenHowl Yeah!! Thats going to be a real problem now.. Luckily its not my problem..😷

They voted him in...Twice.. No excuses.

The Germans of Hitler time fought for him and made no excuses for Adolf whom they love and support till this day. Hitler was a patriot and died for the Fatherland. In contrast, Trump scammed Americans who no longer support him and his actions.

And the US could have easily smoked Maduro...but took him alive. Wonder what he's going to tell the Trump administration to save his skin?

I think it is going to be the other way round. I wonder how Trump is going to save his own skin when he is thrown to the wolves by a new Congress in 12 months' time.

Same old bipartisan stuff you always vote for, Saddam, Gaddafi, Maduro. You're unstoppable.
I remember when everyone celebrated Noriega's capture in december 1989 for the same thing, drug trafficking.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@NativePortlander1970 gunna put Maduro in a cell in Miami next to him (Noriega spends 500 a day in scratch off lotto tickets in Miami lol)
