Do US folks understand they are the weird one?

US folk often speak of Germany or China as if China was a unique country. Most of Eurasia is actually more uniform than North America.

They call petrol GAS. They use gallons and miles. The drive automatic vehicles. They don't understand village traditions like Turks, Serbs, Russians, Chinese, Japs, Indian, and most Eurasians do. Some of them think Nepal is an India.

The world slipped underneath them. Europe recovered from the world wars and became better than them. China, UAE, Japan, Korea surpassed them. Within a decade, India will also surpass them.

Before the wars, the US had a lead because most of the world was colonized and Europe was in wars

They are losing their lead every year, yet they don't get it.

The air here is clean & refreshing, on a clear day, you can see 90-100 miles; Can chinese say the same?

The river here is so clean & unpolluted, it's like look through glass; Can Indians say the same?

The US is a melting pot of various cultures, traditions, etc. There's more of them here than anywhere else in the world.

We call it Gasoline because we were the first country to extract and produce it; initially, it was a waste product and discarded until it found use in gas lamps ("Gasoline" was literally a name branded product for gas lamps), once vehicles came along, the name stuck

"Petrol" is just a shortened version of Petroleum, aka, unrefined crude oil (not really an accurate description for refined engine fuel)

Manual transmissions are still on option for various passenger cars, and are still very common in commercial vehicles (in contrast, most commercial vehicles in Europe are automatics). Autos in trucks are still relatively new here, and limited mostly to interstate routes; vocational/regional trucks (i.e. dump trucks) are still mostly manuals

Europe is still heavily dependent on US exports; everything from oil, to machine parts, to military technology; without us, there would be no NATO, and you'd all be speaking Russian right now...
@wildbill83 You tell em Bill.
You understand the normal ones are actually weird, right?

Why conform to other people's standards?
Why not live your life for you and create your own standards.
