No, I am against the death penalty for these reasons 1) we don't have the right to decide whether someone lives or dies, only God does 2) pain and sadness doesn't go away because you killed the perpetrator, it's just recycled onto the loved ones of the executed criminal. 3) miscarriages of justice happen, even DNA isn't fool proof and can be cross contaminated 4) financially it costs more to have executions that to do life imprisonment. 5) a country that can legally execute people isn't a safe place, I think it's often unfairly applied to minorities, those who are mentally ill or those who don't have capacity.

@CrazyChick21 yes reasonable people don’t the right to decide who lives and who dies. Unfortunately there is a difference of opinion where drug dealers, gang members, criminals, jealous lovers, etc decide who lives and dies. They kill mercilessly.
Where you are wrong that it costs more to execute than life if prison is the 15-20 years of appeals while they spend on death row. After 20 years you’re not paying the $900+ a day once the person is dead. Be better informed before you make an argument.

@JesseInTX regardless on whether it does or doesn't cost more, it's absolutely wrong to take a life. It's one of the ten commandments. God said "Thou shalt not kill" not "Thou shalt not kill unless you think it's a good idea or it works out in your favour." Ok I didn't do a huge amount of research on cost. I don't especially care, it's not going to change my opinion. Wrong is wrong. Anyone who says they are Christian should be against the death penalty because God's word clearly tells them what God thinks about it.
I did find this though.

No. But prison shouldn't be the pleasant place it is now.
