Are you Chinese?

This is the opening scene for the show Joy Ride.
I remember being moved the first time I watched it and the warm feeling I got when the little girl came out from behind her parents.
And even tho I was moved and felt a little teary eyed, I couldn't help but thinking; here we go, another show playing on the same old racists stereotypes and tired narratives.
I also thought, what kid says "ching chong" anyway!
Later on, I was watching one of my favorite shows, King of the Hill, this scene came on.

Which even tho I found it funny, again I thought, come on man! Here we go again playing on the same tired rhetoric of the ignorant average American guy. I was sure that No one can be either that disingenuous or ignorant.
Right??
Then there was this...

So I took a drag of my cigarette and went on looking or something mindless to watch
