Let's go out to the Lobby. And have ourselves a wash.

I am fascinated when two groups of people engage in the same behavior, but blame each other for doing so.

For example. What do you think when you watch a movie and the actor the hired for the main role doesn't go with the idea you had in your head. Do you flip out?
Or do you go with it?

We have two main sides on this argument. One side says that it is outrageous when, for the sake of wokiness, and Political Correctivisitud, movies change the color of characters that are or were obviously white to lets say, darker shades.

Lately there's been a lot of talk about The Odyssey and how casting Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy is whack because Helen has always been considered white.
First of all the whole story is mythical so it's not even real.
Also, if we look at how a greek person from that time would look like, their complexion could go from very white to olive color skin, just like the ones from today.
So I think that one is bullshit . Get over it.

THOR

Idris Elba as Heimdall. I don't know about this one. Even tho it is also mythology, it is NORSE Mythology. There's no evidence stating that there were black people living among any of the Viking clans from Scandinavia. So I'm going to have to say, not a big deal but they should have gotten a white guy for this.

The little Mermaid

Come on this is silly. Mermaids don't exist. They could be any color I can imagine. This one is dumb.

Green Knight,

This movie is based on a 14th-century poem (Sir Gawain and the Green Knight) and it is set in England during the King Arthur times. Dev Patel an Indian actor, plays Sir Gawain. I mean, he did great but I'm not sure I can see an Indian, sitting at the Round Table with King Arthur in the 14th century. They should have got a white guy to play this one .

Then there's the other side.
They complain when movies, trying to white wash history cast white actors in the roles of characters obviously not white.

KunFu

One of the biggest TV series during the 70s and 80s
Played by David Carradine.

Caine is portrayed as the son of an American man and a Chinese woman, raised in a Shaolin monastery before fleeing to the United States.
Now if you ask me is it is historically possible that an American man could have impregnated a Chinese woman during the 18th hundreds. I'd say. What do you think?
So I'm good with this one. I grew up watching this on TV and I couldn't wait for the next episode.

Ghost in the Shell

Scarlett Johansson was Major, a Japanese character. This had the nerds and anime fans all up in arms. I don't know about this one, yeah, I guess it should have been Japanese , but it's a cartoon man .This one was silly.

Aloha

Emma Stone plays this woman that they themselves describe as part Asian Native Hawaiian. Then they should have shown me someone who at least looked the part. Not some skinny white girl. I think the director apologized for her casting.

I think we all have our own judgment according to our own thinking. And we all do the same thing. But it's only ok when we do it.

The problem and the CONTROVERSY comes when people separate every little thing in the world they do according to their political views.

Liberals are going to hate what they call white washed movies arguing that those movies don't recognize certain groups and are actually trying to erase them from history all in the name of perpetuating a White centric culture.

The Conservatives are going to hate brown washing, arguing that movies that replace obviously white characters with actors of color, are trying to erase them from history in the name of perpetuating an wokiness agenda.

So it's all bullshit, some movies look stupid when the cast the wrong actor for a role, and some people look stupid when they complain about something silly because it doesn't align with their precious sensibilities.

Big secret.. No one is forcing you to watch them. Go into the next Sala, go watch Super girl or some crappy romantic comedy. Easy.

And as an encore. I bring you the worst ever accent in the history of movie making.

@ReptilianFromPlanetCrush

I know,

You know, even tho there are major differences between us people.

We are so immersed in our own identity that like you say. We all lose our common sense. About dumb shit.

I can see a group of liberals opposed to a group of conservatives on a sidewalk.

With a crack in between them.

The liberals say...careful with the crack.

The Conservatives say... Why? We're stepping right over it..

Libs...what about your mother's back!!!

Cons... What did you say about my momma?

Libs...my momma, no...your momma!!

2 days later...
