Today after crude oil momentarily hit $119 per barrel then sagged, Trump ordered the opening of the US Strategic Oil Reserves which are located in Alaska. Those are oil wells that are already drilled but are capped-off and kept in reserve for emergency domestic use-only or for military use. The reason those wells are being un-capped is because there is now an oil shortage in the USA.

India has smart people living in India and India will lock-in with Russia because oil is oil, no matter where it comes from!

@swirlie no to be a smart ass to either one of you but India has plenty of it’s on oil and the resin the he is opening up the reserves is to keep oil prices down because if they go up that high everyone starts drilling oil wells and then you get a surplus that floods the market and then the oil prices drop just as much so he is just trying to keep a good balance for the economy

Actually, you're wrong about the reason Trump is opening up the strategic oil reserves in America. The USA has no crude oil of it's own to speak of, except of course those strategic reserves found in Alaska.

Any oil that the USA "produces" is finished oil products that are refined from crude oil that was imported TO the USA from Canada and Venezuela.
